Habiganj is a land of natural beauty with its evergreen tea garden and beautiful haor. It is located in the northeastern part of Bangladesh and possesses beautiful river, haor-baor, hillock, extensive plain land, beautiful tea-gardens, rubber gardens and natural gas. Habiganj District is rich with its tea garden and is very sacred place in religious and liberation war context. Distinct lifestyle of Ethnic group of Chunarughat, Madhabpur and Bahubal Upazila made its culture diversified. In all, Habiganj district is a replica of Bangladesh.
Habiganj is a district of Sylhet division. It’s area 2636.58 sq km, located in between 23°58' and 24°42' north latitudes and in between 91°09' and 91°40' east longitudes. It is bounded by Sunamganj district on the north, Tripura state of India on the south, Maulvibazar and Sylhet districts on the east, Brahmanbaria and Kishoreganj districts on the west.
